Three things driving me to distraction at this...
1. Pointless, splitting headache. 2. Inability to find my fucking level. I NEED my level. 3. The constant running of the kitchen faucet.

How have I gone this many years without...
The answer to all my problems is simple: duck fat. Slice a nice crusty loaf. Toast lightly in the oven, then rub one side of each slice with a clove of garlic. Lightly cover with duck fat (for coverage, think butter, not cream cheese) then sprinkle with cayenne and paprika. Eat. Repeat, until you realize you have run out of bread. Shake yr fist at the sky. Vow to buy more bread. Also, did you...

Things I did not expect to be doing on Xmas day:
Stepping in a inch deep puddle of water in the corner of my kitchen. Wearing a dust mask. Ripping out 20 year old fiberglass insulation. Trying (in vain) to pull a dishwasher out of its casing. Figuring out how to dismantle a faucet. … Happy holidays everyone!

Small Worlds.
I dig pixels, but I’m not into 8-bit games, but after reading this review, I decided to give Small Worlds a shot. It’s incredible how so much can come from so little, further proof that good things do indeed come in small packages.

clientsfromhell: The client looked at the storyboard and said to the bearded copywriter, “seems to work fairly ok, but I’m not sure anyone in my commercial should have a beard. Normal people simply don’t have beards.”

six things that are not helping my vertigo:
1. the construction in my building. 2. staring at a computer screen. 3. the vain attempts of my gut to digest my breakfast. 4. hideous photos of kevin barnes from of montreal on my dash (seriously people? not that innovative.) 5. h1n1 panic. 6. sitting upright.

adamalone: From the local scholar Justin Smith, on Metal vs Mammals: “Before I arrive at my real point, let me stress that it is the last of my intentions to seek to condemn heavy metal. As I understand it, this genre emerges out of the auspicious combination of late ’60s psychedelic blues with the multifarious strains of creatively anachronistic neopaganism that became visible in the following...

I’ve been toying with Google Wave for a couple of days now, and I have no idea what I’m doing. I also can’t figure out why this is something I should use. I understand the theory, of course. One day, Wave technology could potentially replace email, instant messaging and social networking. I only wish I could figure out how to make this useful to me NOW. Am I missing something?...

Ignorance is bliss.
I’ve been seriously toying with unfollowing stfubelievers and stfuconservatives. They’re both excellent websites that provide a public service by exposing the lunacy of bible-beaters and right-wingers alike, but they make me sad. In a nutshell, that’s it. All this noise, this crazy crazy noise, whether it be about Jesus, or Obama, or gay people, or socialized medicine or...
