Some thoughts on last night’s Anthrax / Testament show:
Testament are really, really good. I feel like I may have seen them before and don’t remember, but I will remember this.
Lamb of God owe Testament some royalties. That riff from ‘Into The Pit’ sounds a lot like the riff on ‘Laid To Rest’.
Scott Ian is aging like a fine wine.
Anthrax played ‘Deathrider’, one of my favorite Belladonna-era songs, and no one cared. They dedicated it to the guy who got shot at Metropolis, tho’, which was nice.
I guess not having Belladonna try to sing anything off We’ve Come for You All was a blessing in disguise. Nonetheless, I was sad to hear nothing from that album. I guess I’ll have to wait another five years for that reunion?
Twenty year old boys need to keep growin’ that hair down to their waist and wearing them denim vests and shitty leather jackets because they make my eyes happy.
I’ve seen Anthrax many, many times, and I have only this to say… The John Bush years? Those were golden…
I got one of these. I didn’t use it though.
EDIT: I’m being told that ‘Deathrider’ is pre-Belladonna. That explains a lot.
