How did I miss this Tim Rogers article? I’m pretty sure this dude is some kind of savant, idiot or not. Anyways, in this article he puts forward definitions for the set of terms that he uses to describe gameplay. I’m pretty sure than in a decade these will be standard among those who study videogaming. And yeah, Burnout 3 (and Revenge) are sticky and crunchy as hell, and that might just be why I love them.

Another brilliant and disturbed epic article by Tim Rogers for Kotaku. I really enjoy his writing style (meandering, conversational, semi-philosophical) and the way in which his articles aren’t so much about definitive statements and more about opening up avenues for thought regarding the wacky n’ wonderful world of games.
