parkinthepark: Read this excellent piece on the evolution of Heavy Metal graphic design.  Above is John Baizley’s cover for Baroness’s Blue Record, not mentioned in the article.  John is also the singer/guitarist/songwriter for said band.  He will have his first public showing at Metropolis in Lancaster, PA this month. Dammit, why did I have to come down last month? I would have LOVED to go see this. One mistake in the article: O’Malley didn’t design the Sunn O))) logo - it’s the actual logo of the Sunn amplifier company. Funny, wherever Ian Christe goes, factual errors follow - his book is chock full of falsitudes. In any case, namechecking Baroness but not mentioning Baizley in this article is a dramatic oversight, but it’s still worth the read. So is Stephen O’Malley’s blog, here.
